LQ: How do I solve addition problems?

Today we are going to be solving length addition problems.

 

As a challenge today, you could measure two objects at home using a ruler and then add the lengths together.

E.g. Pencil = 7cm and Toy = 5cm  ... 7cm + 5cm = 12cm

Play Tricky Word Trucks and Dragons Den.

 

Practise spelling: work, mouse, many

 

Teach: 

LQ: Which (y)oo ? 

Blend for reading: statue      rescue      value

                           

Segment for spelling: argue       venue 

                        

Practise: 

Read 'Luke and Ruth' (See below) and underline all of the words containing the 'oo' phoneme. 

 

Apply: Add words to their grids.
