AUTUMN

Year 6 had an excellent day with a team from Somerset Film as part of a 'One World' experience.  They heard inspiring stories from two team members who had come from other countries and had arrived in our country with little English - one from Poland and one from Chile.  Their tales told of difficulty in communication initially but in the value of following your dreams, not worrying if you make mistakes and learning all the time.

The children were amazing in creating radio 'micro-stories' which showed such issues.  The visitors were very impressed with the children's  creativity, enthusiasm and behaviour.  As soon as the broadcasts have been edited, we will post them!  Watch this space!

Batik

In art, we have been looking at African batik.  Below are some of our sketchbook pages and experiments with flour paste.

Yew Class trip to Wessex Water

Yew class went to the Ashford Education Centre at Cannington.  Our trip supported our work on rivers and animals in their environments.  It was great to be on a class trip again.  It was a pleasure to take the children out and the comment from the lady who ran the day was 'The children did you proud!'.

Using the forest school area to help us with our 'hunted' stories. Can you spot anyone hiding?

We had our first ukulele lesson today!

Self-Portraits

We have had a go at drawing proportional self portraits.  Can you recognise any class members?
