Welcome to Elm Class

We are a mixed year class with children from both Year 1 and Year 2.

Our Class Teachers are Mrs Holmes and Mrs Wintrip,

our Teaching Assistants are Miss Guildford and Mrs Lawrence 

We went on a journey to Woodlands Forest Play Centre. It was great !

We have made pizza and garlic bread with ingredients we have grown.

Did you know that science is happening all around us? We had a fantastic Science Day this week.

We have been having lots of fun learning about recycling.

Today we harvested and ate the two varieties of potato that we have been growing. They were delicious.

Today we have begun our Journeys topic by travelling to Egypt, Nigeria, Sweden and Japan.

We spotted some beautiful flowers on our Spring Welly Walk.

We planted sunflower seeds.

We investigated microhabitats.

We enjoyed our Easter Parade

Today Mrs. Perry taught us about some lovely traditions that happen in Russia to celebrate Easter and spring time.

We have been learning about E-safety. We did a quiz. Here is a jigsaw of our online safety messages.

On Wednesday morning, Beegu the alien crash landed her spaceship on Trull School field!

We have been looking at the work of sculptor Barbara Hepworth and creating our own sculptures out of clay.

We had a wonderful time observing autumn changes to the countryside around our school on our Autumn Welly Walk

We have been very creative today.

We have been finding out about teeth, bones and skeletons.

We have been making a map of our school site imagining we were birds looking down from above.

We explored the new outdoor area and found a glorious abundance of beautiful nasturtiums. What a wonderful time we had picking them and finding caterpillars.

Year 2 children enjoyed the sports festival at Castle school

Today was No Pens Wednesday and our learning involved lots of talking and communicating.
