Reading:

Look at p.12 of your reading booklet.  Re-read the Poem 'Daddy Fell into the Pond.'

Try to answer questions 5 - 7 in your reading booklet.  I have included them below, if you do not have your booklet.

5. How do you think the gardener felt when 'Daddy fell into the pond'?  How can you tell?

6. Which two words does the poet use to rhyme with 'pond'?

7. Describe how you think you would react if you saw someone fall into a pond.

Writing:

Use your comic strip from yesterday to re-write the poem 'When Daddy Fell into the Pond' as a short story.  This might take you two days, depending how detailed you make it.

Look at the speech bubbles from your cartoon and try and include this as dialogue in your story.  Remember to put inverted commas (speech marks) around what is being said.  Also remember that each new bit of speech needs to go on a new line and you need to say who said it, possibly with an action. 

E.g.:  "Give me the camera, quick!" shouted Timothy, calling to his mum. 

Also remember to use interesting sentences, paragraphs and punctuation!!
