Monday to Friday 

This week for English, we would like you to plan and write a story with the title "Lost in the Forest" about some children who wander off into a forest but get lost. You can borrow ideas from fairytale characters in other stories. The children in your story could meet some characters from traditional stories (like Little Red Riding Hood, the wolf, Goldilocks, Hansel and Gretel, the witch). Some characters might be kind/helpful... but some may not! Make sure that your characters find their way home in the end. 

Think about choosing interesting language and about how you can start your sentences in different ways. The setting description work that we did at the very start of lockdown might also be helpful and, if you can remember it, the character description and tension building work that we did before Christmas! 

We suggest that you might like to split this into planning your story on Monday, writing on Tuesday and Wednesday, editing on Thursday and publishing on Friday - but it is up to you how you spread the work out over the days! We suggest that you don't leave it all until Friday, though....! You might like to make a book from paper to publish, or you might prefer to type it up on a computer/laptop.
