Today, we are going to do a writing activity to assess your independent writing skills (we will continue with our Icarus sentence stacking lesson tomorrow).
We would like you to watch the beginning of the Disney short film 'Feast'. Click here to watch the video but make sure you stop after 1 minute 10 seconds!
Before you start writing, we would like you to think about all of the sentence types we have used in our fiction writing. Also, look at the writing rainbow (below) to think about the different 'lenses' we have used.
Writing
We would like you to write a story opening inspired by the Feast video using the sentence types and lenses we have used within our fiction writing. You may want to spend 5-10 minutes planning some initial ideas before you start writing. Also, you may want to use the photos (below) to illustrate your writing.
We would love to read your independent writing, so please bring it into school when you return!
