Today, we are having an 'experience day'. In our story of Icarus, Daedalus builds wings for them to escape with. For our experience day today, we would like you to focus on the feathers. We would like you to gather fantastic words to describe the feathers (use photos online or if you have have a feather at home, this will help you to describe them). 

• Draw a picture of a single feather and collect words to describe it using your senses e.g. sight - colours, shapes and touch - textures. 
• Look at normal feathers and coloured feathers.
• Look at different sorts of birds and observe their feathers
• Look at the structure of feathers (hollow and then a big surface area) and the structure of wings (not all feathers are the same size and they are layered).
