Maple

Welcome to Maple Class 2015

We are Year 2 pupils.  Our teacher is Mr Ross and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Andrews and Mr Porter.

In Maple Class the the children are able to change their individual reading books on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Homework is set on a Friday and is expected to be returned on a Friday. Weekly spellings are also given out on a Friday.

A fantastic morning in the sun doing multiskills!

Today we ran the race for life, the rain didn't stop us from doing our best! Well done Maple Class!

We have set up our fair test and made our predictions, we hope to find out the results later this week!

We created our own rainforest music. We rehearsed in our groups before performing it to the class.

Fantastic art experience learning about the way Picasso drew

The Easter Experience! We all had a fabulous time at the church learning about Easter week.

We had a surprise visit today from Mrs McAndrew and baby Daisy (eight weeks old)

Fractions Work

In maths we have been working out how to find a fraction of a given number. We can now work out problems like: 1/2 of 22, 1/4 of 28 and even 2/7 of 21.

Testing Materials

In science we have been testing materials to see which will be the most waterproof and be the best suited for teddies raincoat.

Materials Workshop

As part of our topic work we looked at what toys were made of in the past compared with the toys we play with now. We concluded that our toys are not made to last as long.
We loved dressing up for our Whoops-a-Daisy Christmas play.
Hamptons estate agents were running a competition within schools to design Snoopy's house. Our class were lucky enough to be picked to take part. We planned our house design before using watercolour paints to get creative on our 3D house.

Spellbinder

We always love when Spellbinder man comes to tell us his stories.
