Curriculum

International Primary Curriculum

We introduced the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) at Trull Primary in September 2009.  The IPC is a curriculum used in over 1,000 schools in 65 countries around the world.  The goal of the IPC is for children to focus on a combination of academic, personal and international learning.  We want our children to enjoy their learning; develop enquiring minds, develop the personal qualities they need to be good citizens of the world, and develop a sense of their own nationality and culture, at the same time developing a profound respect for the nationalities and cultures of others.  Most of all, we want our children to develop all the skills they will need in order to confidently face the world of tomorrow.

Many subjects are taught through cross-year topics and some topics involve the whole of a key stage, or occasionally the whole school.

Each term we provide parents with a curriculum overview of the topics to be covered in their child's class.  Parents may then wish to talk about these topics at home with their child, or perhaps arrange a family outing to increase awareness and understanding of a subject.  Copies of these overviews may be found on the appropriate class pages of this website.

Maths Evening Powerpoint

This is the presentation given to parents at the first Parent Maths Workshop in March 2012. (Influenced by a presentation developed by a Westberks LEA consultant.) Mr Biddles welcomes proposals on future workshops: whether they should have a Year-group focus, what time of day to hold the workshops, preferred day of week etc.
